Fashion to Figure co-founder CEO Michael Kaplan, entering the plus-size clothing industry was not an option.
Since he was the great-grandson of Lane Bryant founder Lena Bryant, who launched the business of plus-size clothing in the early years and interacted with plus-sized shoppers while listening to their concerns when the time came to start his own business, Kaplan wanted to take place where his great-grandmother had left at the beginning, so Fashion to Figure was born. (He could have joined the company of the family, but Kaplan’s father was the one who sold Lane Bryant in the early 1980s.)
“I feel they’ve been treated poorly,” he explains of his love of customers with larger sizes. The name, Fashion to Figure, is a tribute to his great-grandmother, who once stated to the magazine that “You should not expect women to conform to their body shapes to the fashions, rather, you should create a figure that is fashionable.”

The Institute Has A New Collaboration Fashion To Figure
The stunning actress, as well as author and business owner Gabrielle Union, has done another collaboration with FTF. The first was in the Winter of 2020. The collection was filled with festive looks that featured satins, velvets, and stunning, striking fashion.
The first collection of Union’s, together with New York & Company, was in the fall of 2017 and increased to size 20.
